RMWD Moosa Crest Pipeline Bridge

Kelsey Structural provided the emergency design of the new Moost Crest Pipeline Bridge Crossing for Rainbow Municipal Water District (RMWD) to replace an existing pipeline crossing that was destroyed during heavy rains.  The pipeline crosses over a river with foundations that were scoured out during flooding in early 2017.  The new pipeline and foundations required a quick solution and design as the existing pipe had to be taken out of service and diverted following its collapse.  Design included new concrete bridge abutments, bridge anchorage, and preliminary design of the steel bridge crossing.

P920 SOF Logistics Support One Facility #2

Kelsey Structural is providing the structural design for a 41M dollar design build project at Naval Base Coronado located in Coronado, CA.  The project consists 120,000 GSF new buildings at the Silver Strand Training Complex.  P-920 LOGSU facilities will be constructed as 3 separate buildings; a Supply Facility, a Contingency Engineering Division (CED) Facility, and an Air Loft Facility consisting of 1-story concrete tilt-up, concrete slab on grade, conventional foundations, and steel framed low-slope roofs.  The air loft facility also includes a standalone 108’ paraloft tower and multi-level rappelling training platform consisting of structural steel framing with ordinary braced frames and a concrete mat foundation.  The project design will follow the provisions and requirements per the current NAVFAC building code.

Phelan Chromium-6 Mitigation Project

Kelsey Structural is providing structural design for the Phelan and Piñon Hills CSD (PPHCSD) Chromium-6 Mitigation Project.  The project’s goal is to expand the current water storage capacity and conveyance of the PPHCSD to allow for increased detention time and well water mixing to lower the levels of Chromium-6 to acceptable levels in the drinking water.  Work includes the design of (2) CMU booster pump station facilities, (2) steel tank foundations, multiple well canopy foundations, and miscellaneous site equipment pads and anchorage.

P159 Camp Wilson Infrastructure Upgrades

Kelsey Structural is providing the structural design for a 25M dollar design build project at Camp Wilson Military Base located in Twentynine Palms, CA. The project includes (6) CMU latrine buildings, (1) CMU pump house, (1) 1MG prestressed concrete circular tank, (16) armory foundations, an electrical substation foundation, and shade structures. The project design will follow the provisions and requirements per the current NAVFAC building code.

City of San Diego North City Conveyance System

Kelsey Structural is providing part of the structural design for the NCCS project as SLBE subconsultant.  The design includes a pipeline utility bridge spanning 100’ over an existing railway under the existing Miramar Road concrete bridge.  The existing concrete bridge will be analyzed for the additional weight and new penetrations through the existing concrete abutments. The design will also include a dechlorination facility consisting of a CMU building to protect (2) chemical tanks, and the design of multiple concrete below grade metering vaults and retaining walls.
