P-160 Solid Waste Management Facility

P160 Solid Waste Facility

Kelsey Structural provided design-build services for the new NAVFAC P-160 Solids Waste Facility.  Structural design included pre-engineered building foundations for both a 40,000 sqft Solid Waste Management building with covered canopy area and a 966 sqft Maintenance building.  Additional design included a Wastewater Treatment Facility, Steel Fire Storage Tank and Pump House, debris fence, various site equipment foundations with anchorage design and influent splitter box/sumps/vaults.  The project required the use of BIM modeling using Revit 3D.

P920 SOF Logistics Support One Facility #2

Kelsey Structural is providing the structural design for a 41M dollar design build project at Naval Base Coronado located in Coronado, CA.  The project consists 120,000 GSF new buildings at the Silver Strand Training Complex.  P-920 LOGSU facilities will be constructed as 3 separate buildings; a Supply Facility, a Contingency Engineering Division (CED) Facility, and an Air Loft Facility consisting of 1-story concrete tilt-up, concrete slab on grade, conventional foundations, and steel framed low-slope roofs.  The air loft facility also includes a standalone 108’ paraloft tower and multi-level rappelling training platform consisting of structural steel framing with ordinary braced frames and a concrete mat foundation.  The project design will follow the provisions and requirements per the current NAVFAC building code.

P159 Camp Wilson Infrastructure Upgrades

Kelsey Structural is providing the structural design for a 25M dollar design build project at Camp Wilson Military Base located in Twentynine Palms, CA. The project includes (6) CMU latrine buildings, (1) CMU pump house, (1) 1MG prestressed concrete circular tank, (16) armory foundations, an electrical substation foundation, and shade structures. The project design will follow the provisions and requirements per the current NAVFAC building code.

MOP Towers Repair and Replacement

Kelsey Structural provided the structural design/retrofit of (13) existing 48’ tall wood framed guard towers, (2) existing 60’ steel towers, and new foundations for (3) 60’+ steel towers at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  Poor soil conditions, high winds and seismicity, and the marine environment required careful design considerations and detailing to provide cost-efficient repair solutions for the existing towers.  The project design followed the provisions and requirements of the current NAVFAC building code.

High Temperature Hot Water System Decentralization

Kelsey Structural provided the structural design for the mechanical equipment anchorage and foundations for the High Temperature Hot Water (HTHW) design build project at the Coronado Naval Amphibious Base. The equipment consists of boilers, water storage tanks, and miscellaneous equipment located at multiple buildings throughout at the site. The project design followed the provisions and requirements of the current NAVFAC building code.
